Mr. Petainen is the Head of Quantitative Research for Catalyst Capital Advisors, LLC. He is responsible for the support and development of in-house quantitative strategies and joined the Advisor in 2016. Mr. Petainen is also the Staff Director and Manager of Quantitative Investing at the University of Michigan, where he teaches Applied Quant and Value Portfolio Management.

Mr. Petainen received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Lake Superior State University. He was featured in “The Warren Buffetts Next Door”, a book by Forbes writer, Matthew Schifrin, and is also a regular contributor to Forbes. Mr. Petainen is cited and his quantitative models are followed by various publications, such as Marketocracy, Earningstorpedo and the Globe and Mail.
